School Crisis Support Initiative

The School Crisis Support Initiative (SCSI) helps students and families access the resources and support they need to thrive. Based in schools, the program creates safe, welcoming spaces where middle and high school students can grow, learn, and feel empowered through supportive lunch groups, one-on-one check-ins, and meaningful relationship-building opportunities. Through wellness activities, mediation, restorative practices, and social-emotional learning, students build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop coping skills. In collaboration with organizations such as the Community Youth Center, the Samoan Community Development Center, Tailor Made, and Young Community Developers, as well as schools and government partners, the initiative works to prevent and reduce violence, promote safety, and strengthen connections between youth, families, and their communities while celebrating diverse cultural backgrounds.
